Tyneham. A mysterious ‘ghost’ village, it was evacuated by the military in 1943, but the promise to allow the villagers to return after the war was never fulfilled.

Tank Museum. Bovington’s Tank Museum boasts the largest collection of tanks and armoured fighting vehicles in the world, and also stages exciting fire power and mobility displays.

Upton Country Park. Near Poole, it has over 100 acres of garden, open parkland, woodland and shoreline together with its centrepiece Upton House, a Grade II listed building built in 1818.

Wareham. A charming walled market town, situated in Purbeck on the Rivers Piddle and Frome, with many interesting buildings.
