South Lytchett Manor is delighted to announce that for the third year in a row, readers of Practical Caravan magazine have named us as the top park in Dorset.
This is a great accolade and one that we are thrilled to have achieved. We should also like to thank Practical Magazine readers for helping us to win second place in the Country and Best All Round Park 2010. |

South Lytchett Manor's commitment to developing a green site for all to enjoy has been been recognised with a Silver Award under the Green Tourism scheme.
The Award is only given after a rigorous assessment by assessors who consider a wide range of issues including bio-diversity, conservation and energy efficiency. Site owner Joanne Bridgen said, "It's marvellous to have received this award because we really do try hard to make South Lytchett Manor as green as possible. The assessors looked at our whole operation, including walks from the site, recycling facilities including battery recycling, the installation of water butts, the involvement of the RSBPB in identifying the different birds on the site and the way areas have been left to grow wild to support wildlife. "We were also able to showcase the introduction of a new bus route by the site owners to Bournemouth, the availability of information to help people make their stay greener as well as the steps made on the site to conserve water, reduce carbon emissions and reduce heat loss through good insulation. "Our next goal is to try and achieve a Gold Award, which would be really fantastic,"she said. |
