This campsite is probably the best site we have ever stayed at, we were there for one week. The toilets and showers are in excellent condition, the people running and maintaining the site are very friendly and always willing to offer advice on the local areas.

The grass is well maintained and the pitches are level and easy to peg down the tent. Pitches are good size, we had a superior pitch with EHU, measuring approx 10msq.

The no noise after 11pm rule was adhered to and everyone on the site respected each other and that made a huge difference.

The local pub approx 10 minute walk from the site, is a gastro type serving excellent food and has a great selection of wines and beers.

The bus stop is right outside the site gates and you can get a bus to Poole, Swanage and Weymouth.

I recommend this site to anyone planning to visit Dorset, a really great base to explore the local area and beyond. Cannot praise this site enough and looking forward to going back there in 2013.

July 2011
Just arrived back from a 7 night stay at south lytchett manor campsite. Overall this site was very nice, very friendly welcome on arrival, very helpful staff and very good facilities. Toilets and showers were always spotless and clean and the two free hairdryers in the ladies were a bonus too. There was also two family shower rooms.

We were pitched in the main camping field, next to the play area which our 4 and 7 year old loved. The shop was a stones throw away and was always well stocked. There was also a great little information hut with endless info leaflets for ideas for days out in the area, we visited splashdown water park, the tank museum and paultons park during ou stay.

This campsite was a great base for exploring dorset and its beautiful beaches.

We visited the local pub st peters fingers during our stay, delcious food and friendly atmosphere, but you might be wise to book in peak season.

The main camping field was a little over crowded and you could hear traffic noise from the main road running along side this site(this didn't bother us too much though. My only other complaint with this site was we had to pitch our tent over a mud pitch (the grass had died off where previous tents had been and not been given chance to grow back, most of the pitches appeared to look like this). This meant that the ground in the awning was mud as well.

Overall we had a great stay.
