The first 10 years: Look how far we’ve come!

From small beginnings 10 years ago, to AA Campsite of the Year 2016. What a difference a decade can make!

When Dave and Jo Bridgen took over South Lytchett Manor in 2006, their vision was clear; the best campsite they could possibly build. Now, ten years on, they’ve spent thousands of hours of hard work building brand new facilities, setting up attractions, equipping pitches and mowing what feels like millions of square feet of lawn (!) in their bid to improve every possible aspect of the site.

But has it all been worthwhile? If their guest opinions are anything to go by, the answer is a resounding ‘Yes’. Check out the new video above and hear first-hand from campers and caravanners just how much they love the site that has grown up and flourished in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside.

From dog friendly walks and beautifully maintained grounds, to top quality facilities, great local pub, free Wi-Fi across the park and the breath-taking new Romany Caravans, the feedback is positive and full of praise… ‘Absolutely faultless, just superb, fantastic staff, immaculate, beautiful gardens, lovely family-run site, play area for children, very dog friendly, fun, safe, happy family camping holiday …’

A brand new video showcases the many advantages of booking a holiday at South Lytchett Manor which is in Lytchett Minster, a lovely Dorset village close to Poole, Bournemouth and the striking Jurassic coast. Visitors who return year on year are seen emphasising how peaceful and well-kept they find it – how they would come back tomorrow if they could!

There’s also another new video that concentrates on the romantic idea of spending a holiday in a charming and cosy Romany Caravan – bespoke, hand-built caravans that sleep four and are perfect for first time campers or anyone who wants to try something different and fun.

With every year that passes, South Lytchett Manor wins more hearts among campers looking for the ideal spot to stay. Jo and Dave Bridgen, their son Matt and the rest of the staff believe the next 10 years hold even more promise and look forward to welcoming you to this great site. Happy Campers ツ

Brilliant site with staff who cannot do enough for you, they even helped us with a dilemma before we set off!! The pitches are spacious and well kept, the ground staff are definitely worth their weight in gold, manicuring the pitches when one caravan or motor home has gone and before another one arrives. Facilities are clean and warm and the shop is very well stocked.

If you have a dog there are plenty of opportunities to exercise it. Don’t waste time thinking about it, book it as it is a very popular site and now we’ve been we know why.

We stayed on this Campsite for 5 nights to visit family in the area, this campsite was ideal and made more prefect because we had a very good sized pitch with facilities for water and wast direct. Also, we had a point for TV Ariel, given that it was Wimbledon final and football final this proved very useful.

The staff are very helpful and very keen to make sure that everything was right, the facilities are very clean and welcoming, we also had our own picnic bench and table next to our pitch, the site were very helpful and were not at all put out by the visits to our site by our two daughters. Wi-Fi was available, the site is well worth a visit.

We stayed for 2 nights at South Lytchett and can highly recommend it. The campsite is clean and well maintained. The staff are all very friendly and the allocated pitches are a good size so you don’t feel overcrowded. The washroom facilities are some of the best I have experienced. If we ever find ourselves in the Poole area again, I would definitely stay there.

One definite perk is getting a free bottle of wine at the local pub St Peters Finger. The food there is lovely but make sure you book as the pub filled up quickly with guests from the campsite due to the drinks voucher.
