Bournemouth Aviation Museum houses an impressive collection of planes and helicopters. Unlike other museums, visitors are welcome to climb into the cockpits and play with the controls. The interactive experience means children and adults can imagine what it’s like to be a pilot and picture journeys around the world.
There are more than 25 exhibits to admire – all with detailed information boards on display. Highlights include boeing 737s, fighter jets and percival provosts. There’s a model exhibition with hundreds of model aircraft in glass cabinets. Fire trucks and busses can also be seen.
Many of the team have aviation backgrounds and are more than happy to chat and share stories. The museum is situated near Bournemouth airport and there are viewing platforms so you can watch the planes take off and land.
Bournemouth Aviation Museum is one of the best family friendly attractions in Dorset. The team work incredibly hard to deliver a first class experience for visitors young and old. The museum is situated around 40 minutes drive from South Lytchett Manor, close to Bournemouth Airport. We highly recommend taking some time to visit during your stay at our award-winning caravan park.
There is ample parking available on site.
