Hamworthy Park Beach is an excellent choice for young families staying at South Lytchett Manor. Situated on the northern shore of Poole harbour, just one mile from Poole Quay, this popular stretch of sand boasts wonderful views of Brownsea Island and towards the Isle of Purbeck.
If you’re in to watersports, Hamworthy Park Beach is an excellent choice. Beach users can make the most of a windsurfing and kite surfing launch area and there’s also a boat hire facility.
One of the biggest draws of this family friendly beach is the abundance of facilities on offer. There are beaches huts available to hire for the day and directly behind the beach you will find a 26-acre park, with large grass areas, perfect for enjoying a leisurely picnic or ball games with the kids.
There are two play parks with a wide variety of outdoor play equipment catering to toddlers as well as older children. There’s also a range of outdoor fitness equipment if you fancy working up a sweat! Perhaps, best of all, a newly refurbished paddling pool provides the perfect place for little ones to splash and play on a hot summer’s day.
There is a reasonably priced café in the park offering a selection of hot and cold meals.
Hamworthy Park beach is dog friendly year-round, so your four-legged friend can come too. You’ll often see dogs chasing a ball up and down the beach when it’s quiet and enjoying a dip in the sea! Dog owners are requested to keep dogs on leads on the promenade
Hamworthy Park Beach is situated just 3 miles from our Dorset holiday park and accessible by car, bike or foot. If you plan to drive, there is a pay and display car park close to the beach, however there are only 40 spaces so we advise arriving early if you visit during a weekend or school holiday.
