Oceanarium – The Bournemouth Aquarium

Attractions

Learn about marine life at the Oceanarium, one of Bournemouth’s premier attractions. With creature experiences, daily animal talks and a wide variety of tanks showcasing native and tropical species, the whole family will enjoy a fun and educational visit!

As you walk around, you’ll be treated to a range of displays housing creatures from around the world. Fish from the Amazon and Africa, turtles, crocodiles and penguins can all be found in spacious enclosures with viewing platforms and information boards to learn more about traits and natural habitats.

Animal experiences

The team are dedicated to conservation and work hard to ensure animals, many of which have been rescued from the wild, are well looked after. Through informative talks and interactive displays, they hope to educate visitors about their plight and the struggles many species continue to face.

As a holiday treat or to mark a special occasion, you can book an animal experience for an up close and personal look.

Family fun

In addition to a wealth of marine life there are other activities on offer to keep younger members of the family entertained. Pick up the Adventure Quiz trail booklet at the beginning of the trail and complete the tasks and activities as you make your way around the displays.

There’s also an underwater themed kid play area for the under 10’s if they’ve got pent up energy to burn!

Eat and drink

There are two eateries on site should you wish to grab a bite to eat during your visit. The Offshore Café serves a range of snacks and the Bay View terraces offers panoramic views out to sea. There’s also a gift shop should you wish to purchase something to remind you of your visit.

Getting to the Oceanarium

The Bournemouth Aquarium is located on the seafront, next to Bournemouth Pier. Pay and display car parking can be found easily nearby.
