Walk: Circular 3.75 mile from South Lytchett Manor via the pub or cafe

Activities

Starts: From the Craft Centre (cafe). Or do the walk in reverse to finish at the cafe.

  • Turn left and after about 200m turn left again following the sign to Lytchett Minster School.
  • Continue past the school until the road bends sharply to your left.
  • Follow the bridle path to your right.
  • Follow this path for about 1.5km.
  • At the end of the path you come out on to Foxhills Road.
  • Turn right and follow the road up the hill for about 1km.
  • At the top of this smaller road turn right (Foxhills Road sign will be opposite you).
  • When you nearly reach the top of Foxhills Road, on your right is a bridleway sign.
  • Take the path which follows along the back of some houses and through fields and woods to a gate.
  • At the gate turn left, walk towards another gate a short distance away and then turn right into a field.
  • There is a good straight walk along the side of the field with a wood on your right and views of Poole Harbour and the Purbeck Hills to your left.
  • At the bottom of the hill the path turns to the left and continues down until it joins another footpath where you turn left up the hill.
  • This is the bridleway you were on earlier.
  • After this the path turns right and takes you on to Post Green Road. Keepers Cottage is on your left.
  • Go straight on and you will soon find yourself passing Post Green House on your left.
  • Follow the road to the left as it leads into New Road (Lytchett Minster ¼ mile).
  • At the bottom of New Road is the pub (St Peters Finger).

Stop for a well earned rest and then follow the road (to your right as you come out of the pub) back to the campsite.
