Bournemouth is a fantastic place to holiday with your four-legged friend. Many of Bournemouth’s beaches are dog friendly – some have seasonal restrictions.

Are there any takeaway options?
Yes! In high season, we have various local takeaway food vans visiting site. To find out if they will be there during your stay.
You can also get takeaway from the local fish and chip shop a 10-minute walk from site. See our Information Hut for details of other local takeaways.
Are there washing up facilities?
Yes! Every amenity block has under cover washing up facilities for guest use.
Are you Dog Friendly?
Yes! South Lytchett Manor is considered one of the best dog friendly caravan sites in Dorset! We welcome friendly dogs of all shapes and sizes to stay in our award-winning grounds. We have a number of dog friendly facilities, including a doggy shower, off lead exercise area and plenty of fantastic dog walks nearby.
We kindly ask that you let us know whether you will be bringing a dog with you at the time of booking. Whilst on park, please keep your furry friends on a lead with the exception of the designated off lead dog walk area. Please pick up any deposits and dispose of them in the bins around the site. We have plenty!
Can I add extra guests to my booking?
Yes! You can do this online with your booking number, or you can give us a call on 01202 622577. Please note that there is an additional cost for extra guests and a maximum number of guests applies.
Can I book for friends or family?
Yes! You can book for friends or family, either by booking the holiday with a £50 non-refundable deposit or by buying them a gift voucher that they can then use to book the holiday dates with at a later time.
Can I book my next holiday before I leave?
Certainly! We can book you in at reception, online or over the phone for just a £50 deposit for any date in the future!
Can I bring a gazebo?
A gazebo is allowed as a chargeable extra, as long as it remains within the size dimensions of the pitch. It cannot be used by extra guests to sleep in due to fire safety council rules.
Can I bring a heater?
Please, strictly no Awning heaters as these are a big fire hazard. You can bring other types of heaters as long as they are under 10 Amp and do not pose a fire hazard.
Can I bring a motorbike?
Yes, it’s fine to bring a motorbike with you to South Lytchett Manor. If it is your only mode of transportation there will be no charge. If you are bringing it as an extra vehicle, this is chargeable.
Can I cancel my holiday?
While we would hate to miss you, you are more than welcome to cancel your holiday with us at any point. Please take a look at our terms and conditions.
Can I choose my pitch or accomomdation?
If you have any preferences in pitch type, location or area, then please do let us know on booking. While we will do our best to accommodate requests, it is subject to availability – especially in busy periods when the park is full.
Can I cook?
Yes! There is a two ring electric hob, a kettle, toaster and coffee maker that is for your use. Please do remember that you need to bring your own cookware if you would like to cook in your glamping unit.
Can I extend my holiday?
Of course! Subject to availability, we are always happy to extend your booking! Just pop into reception or give us a ring on 01202 622 577.
Can I fly a drone?
Unfortunately, we cannot permit the flying of drones at South Lytchett Manor. Please refrain from flying drones on the Park in respect of other guests and our surrounding neighbours’ privacy.
Can I freeze ice blocks?
There is a specific freezer in the Information hut for guests to freeze their ice blocks free of charge. Please remember to pop your name on them before leaving them!
Can I have a pup tent?
You can have a pup tent as an addition to your tent however it would need a separate pitch.
Can I have more than one unit on a pitch?
There is strictly one unit per pitch. This is enforced on the park due to council fire safety regulations.
Can I leave early for the ferry?
You can leave the park at any time as the barriers are automated on exit. However, please do be considerate to your neighbours if you are arriving or leaving in the early hours. We have pitches near the top of the park that are perfect for guests who wish to cause minimum disruption.
Can I make amendments to my booking?
Definitely! You can make amendments online or give us a call on 01202 622 577.
Can I park next to my unit?
Yes! There is always a space for a minimum of one car by your pitch. If you have paid for an extra vehicle, it may be possible to also park it on your pitch, or it can be parked in a secure place on the Park.
Can I pay my balance in instalments?
A £50 deposit is required at the time of booking and full payment 28 days before arrival. If you would prefer to pay in increments over a longer period, please give us a call on 01202 622 577 and we can discuss payment options with you.
Can I smoke or vape?
By law, there is a strict No Smoking policy in all our Romany Caravans, Shepherds Huts and Glamping Pods. Cigarette disposal units are situated outside the reception office and facility blocks. Anyone smoking in any of the units will automatically be charged £200 due to cleaning charges and loss of use.
Can I stay over Christmas and New Year?
Yes! Christmas and New Year is such a special time on the park, with plenty of festive decorations, drinks and nibbles. There is a really lovely atmosphere on site – so please do come and celebrate with us!
Can I turn up and pay on arrival?
Yes you can turn up without a reservation, however in busy periods we may be full and not have any space! It is always best to phone in advance and check whether we will have any availability if you choose to visit last minute.
Can I wash my dog?
South Lytchett Manor is a dog friendly caravan and camping site. We take great pride in the facilities we have available for your four legged friends. There is a free to use fully serviced dog wash by reception. It has shampoo, hot water, an apron and even a hair dryer. Ideal for washing dirty paws after a trip to one of Dorset’s dog friendly beaches.
Can our friends visit us on the Park?
Of course! Friends can visit for no charge but please be respectful of other guests. We kindly ask that they have left the site by 9pm.
Can we go crabbing nearby?
Crabbing is a fantastic family activity and a must if you’re holidaying by the coast. There are plenty of places to go crabbing in Dorset, many of which are just a short drive or scenic walk from our award-winning camping and caravan park. Poole Quay, Kimmeridge, Swanage, Mudeford are just some of our favourite destinations. If you need the gear then we have plenty available in our onsite shop!
Can we make a group booking?
As a small family friendly park, we do not take group bookings of more than two groups including parties, stag or hen do’s and reserve the right to refuse a booking or turn away guests that are causing a disturbance for other guests on the park. Can we play football?
You can play football in the designated ball game areas. However, please have courtesy to other guests by not playing ball games between pitches.
Can you kayak in Poole Park?
Yes, it is possible to kayak in the lake at Poole Park. During the spring and summer months Rockley Watersports offer equipment hire. There’s no need to book, simply turn up and rent kayaks, canoes, stand up paddleboards and sailing dinghies.
Can you paddle board in Poole Park?
Yes, it is possible to paddleboard in the lake at Poole Park. During the summer months there is a watersports hire facility, where you can rent a range of equipment, including SUP’s, kayaks, canoes, windsurfing boards, sailing dinghies and pedalos.
Can you recommend someone to mend my motorhome/ caravan?
Whilst onsite we do have local mobile repairmen who have been recommended by other guests. Just pop up to reception if you need a recommendation!
Do I get a booking confirmation?
Yes, we email through a booking confirmation to your given email address. If you do not have one, we can post it to your registered address.
Do I need to pack an eye mask for the Yurts?
Yes, we recommend packing an eye mask if you’re not a fan of early morning wake-up calls. It’ll definitely come in handy! Don’t worry if you forget one, we have a eye masks for sale in the shop for £1.00.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, there is a £50 non-refundable deposit per pitch at time of booking.
Do I need travel insurance?
We always advise that guests take out their own travel insurance, just in case.
Do you allow BBQs, fire pits, bonfires or fireworks?
BBQs are allowed if they are raised off the ground and used only for cooking. However, fire safety regulations prohibit fire pits, bonfires and fireworks.
Do you have a swimming pool?
We do not have a swimming pool onsite. However, but recommend Tower Park Splashdown for a fun day out for all the family, or The Dolphin Centre or the Purbeck Sports Centre for an indoor swimming pool option.
Do you have any function rooms?
If you are looking to hold a function, the Courtyard Centre a two-minute stroll from site has a function room that is perfect to hire.
Do you have any noise curfews?
We politely ask guests to abide by our strict 10.30pm quiet time rule. Please be courteous to other guests around you.
Do you have gas refills to exchange?
We have a variety of Calor Gas and Camping Gaz available on-site. Please contact us at reception or call us for details.
Do you have pitches for RV’s?
While our maximum pitch size is 9m, there are a few that can take a larger vehicle. Please do give us a ring with your dimensions to discuss this. We also need to know the width of your vehicle to check you will fit through our main gate!
Do you have recycling bins on the Park?
We take recycling and the sustainability very seriously, therefore there are multiple recycling bins across the park. See our sustainability credentials for more information on the various ways we minimise our impact on the environment at South Lytchett Manor.
Do you have to pay for showers?
No – our amenity blocks are free to use for all guests.
Do you have to pay to go to Durdle Door?
No, you do not have to pay to go to Durdle Door. You will however need to pay to park in the pay and display car park if you are arriving by car. There are two car parks to choose from depending on the distance you want to walk. One is located on the cliff above Durdle Door and the second is at Lulworth Cove.
Do you offer Seasonal Pitches?
Unfortunately, we do not offer seasonal pitches on the park.
Do you offer discounts?
While we do not offer discounts, we very occasionally work with our affiliates, such as Premier Parks and Best of British, to give low season offers to members.
Do you offer early check in or late check out?
While we do not specifically offer late check out or early check in, we may be able to be flexible depending on the season. If you have a problem, just ask and we will see what we might be able to do for you.
Do you offer short breaks?
You can stay with us for just the one night or for longer, the choice is yours! Peak season, bank holidays and weekends can be subject to minimum nights – do check with us though as we may have gaps to fill!
Do you permit supermarket deliveries?
We allow deliveries to the park but please ask them to park up outside the gates where you can collect the delivery. For security and safety reasons, we cannot have them deliver to your pitch.
Do you provide for guests with accessibility requirements?

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Do you take rallies?

Do you use local produce?
We have a local produce section in the onsite shop and use local wherever we can. This ranges from Dorset Tea and Sandbanks Cider right through to Moore’s Dorset knobs and biscuits and homemade jams from Ajar Of in Dorchester! In the High season, we also have local meat from Rawston Farm and local family food vans visiting site to provide evening hot food!
Does Poole have a beach?
Yes, there are a wide selection of beaches in Poole. You’ll be spoilt for choice when deciding where to head during your camping or caravan holiday at South Lytchett Manor.
All of the beaches have a slightly different offering. Some have excellent for families that require entertainment while others don’t have any facilities at all.

Does the glamping accommodation have space for a travel cot?
All of our glamping units have the space for a travel cot (please note, travel cots are not provided). However, due to the layout of our Romany Caravans, it does make them a bit of a squeeze with a travel cot in.
If you are planning to bring a travel cot, then we’d recommend booking a shepherds hut, star-gazing yurt or glamping pod.
How big are the Romany Caravans?
The Romany Caravans have a 5m x 3m internal floor space. We recommend that they are suited for a maximum of two adults and two children.
How big are the beds in the glamping units?
The double beds in each glamping unit measure 190cm x 135cm.
The lounge seat bedding pulls out to two beds of approximately 185cm x 70cm. Please note, that the lounge beds are not suitable for adults, but for children up to around the age of 14.

How long is the North Dorset Trailway?
The North Dorset Trailway is stretches from Sturminster Newton to Spetisbury and is approximately 14 miles long. The well maintained path is suitable for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It is also mobility scooter and pushchair friendly.
The popular route is made up of sections of the Somerset and Dorset Railway, which linked Bristol and Bournemouth until the 1960s. The trailway passes through some of North Dorset’s best loved countryside and offers a glimpse of quaint towns and villages. Walkers will be treated to far-reaching views across the Blackmore Vale and the River Stour. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife – it’s not uncommon to see kingfishers and even otters.
Visitors can complete the trail in one go, or in smaller sections. There are car parks at various destinations along the route.

How many cars can I bring on my holiday?
Each individual booking includes one car. If you would like to bring an additional vehicle with you, then please do let us know at the time of booking. We will add this as a chargeable extra.
How old do I have to be to book a holiday?
The lead guest needs to be 18 years or over in order to book a stay at South Lytchett Manor.
I am arriving on the ferry – what should I do?
Please do let us know on booking that you will be arriving on the ferry. We are less than a 10 minute drive from the ferry terminal.
Is Poole Park dog friendly?
Yes, Poole Park is dog friendly and there are designated off lead areas. There is a mixture of woodland and parkland for your four-legged friend to explore. The walk around the park is approximately 1 mile. Dogs are not permitted in the fenced children’s play areas.
Is Poole Park free?
Yes, Poole Park is free to enter, though you will need to pay to use the watersports facilities. This popular family attraction is open year-round and boasts a boating lake, café, tennis courts, bowing green and multiple play areas.
There are 3 free car parks within the park as well as free on road parking (we recommend arriving early as parking because parking is limited). The park is closed to vehicles between 6am and 10am Monday – Sunday.
Is Poole Quay the same as Poole Harbour?
Poole Quay is situated at the northern edge of Poole Harbour within walking distance of the Town Centre. It’s a hive of activity, especially during the summer months and home to a wide selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants. A number of events take place at Poole Quay every year and there are some excellent walks nearby. You can catch a number of scenic boat trips around Poole Harbour from the quayside. There’s also a ferry to Brownsea Island.
Is it accessible?
The interior is as accessible as possible whilst maintaining the authenticity of the experience. However, there are a few steps up into each glamping unit. We have multiple accessible amenities and facilities on the park to help you make the best of your stay with us. Please look at our accessibility page for more information.
Is the water safe to drink?
All taps are safe to drink from apart from those that specifically say you can’t. If you are unsure, please ask one of the members of the team.
Is there WIFI on the Park?
Yes, there is Wifi on park and best of all, it’s completely free! Please do not use any streaming services as this will slow down the service for all guests.
Is there a Laundrette on the Park?
Yes, there is a laundrette at South Lytchett Manor. It is located in the main amenity block and available for caravan, camping and glamping guests.
The machines are token-operated, and tokens can be purchased from the cafe or shop. £4.00 for a wash, £4.00 per dry and £1 for the Iron token. Washing detergent can also be purchased from the shop.
Please pop to reception before use to buy the tokens!
Is there a Park Run in Poole?
Poole Park Run course is 5km and is a mixture of tarmac and compacted gravel. Some sections do get busy, especially during the autumn and winter and puddles can form after heavy rain. Poole Park Run is a welcoming event that is designed for participants of all ages and abilities. You can walk, job or run – it’s not a race!
Poole Park Run takes place every Sunday and starts at 9am. The starting point can be found at West Field (opposite the crazy golf) at the town centre end of Poole Park.
Parking can be tricky so you will need to arrive early. Entrants are encouraged to walk or cycle to the event.
Is there a chemical disposal area?
Yes! There is a motorhome service point on the park, as well as several Elsan and water points across the park for easy access throughout your say. If you have a fully serviced pitch, you have your own water and waste to your pitch.
Is there a fridge or freezer?
There is a small fridge in your glamping unit. This has enough space to store a couple of meals and drinks for your stay.
You can freeze ice packs 24h at the Information Centre.
Is there a petrol station nearby?
There are a range of petrol stations to choose from dependent on your direction of travel. The cheapest is at the Tesco Extra at Fleetsbridge (7min drive) – BH17 7EJ

To the South: Hamworthy Service Station – BH16 5BN on the road to the ferry terminal

Is there a picnic area?
Yes! The Manor Field at the bottom of the Park is designated solely for ball games and picnics. If you have a fully serviced pitch, your pitch is inclusive of a picnic bench to enjoy as well!
Is there electric?
The majority of our pitches come with electric. However, we do have some “Standard Non Electric” pitches for those campers that would like to go back to basics!
Please note, we do not allow electric vehicles to be charged on site however do ask us about the nearest charging points. Our electric hooks up aren’t suitable for mains kettles. You will need a main mobile power unit to collect to our bollards for safety reasons.
Is there entertainment on-site?
We love to encourage guests to go out and explore the wondrous beaches, countryside and towns nearby – there is so much to see and do in the local area. Therefore, there is no entertainment on site.
Is there fishing nearby?
Yes! There are fishing charter boats from Poole Quay and several lakes a short drive from site. Some guests have caught lots of mackerel from Chesil Beach! A short drive away is Todber Manor, which has excellent runs water – great for coarse and carp fishing. It also has an onsite tackle shop and hot food options.
Is there food onsite?
We have an onsite shop that is well stocked with all the essentials you’ll need during your stay. In high season we have a selection of local meats, fresh vegetables and salad items available to purchase.
The onsite cafe offers coffee and a selection of light snacks. In high season and bank holidays, we also have an onsite bakery creating delicious bread and pastries every morning.
During High season, various family run food vans visit site during the evenings with local high quality food offerings. Outside of high season, there is a café just two minutes walk away to enjoy your breakfast. It is only a seven minute walk to the local pub – St Peters Finger. Takeaways are also an option!
Is there outdoor seating?
Yes – there is outdoor seating that is specific for your use.
Is there space for my car?
Yes! You have a dedicated space for a vehicle with your glamping stay. If you want to bring more than one vehicle, please contact us to discuss options.
What Ampage are the pitches?
All pitches are 10 Amp across the park. They are not suitable for standard kettles.
What do I need to bring for my Glamping stay?
Although we provide most of the essentials you will need for your stay, we suggest you bring the following items:
Bed linen — including sleeping bags/duvet/pillow, bed sheets and pillow cases, crockery, mugs, glasses, chopping board, corkscrew, cutlery (including sharp knife for chopping/cutting), frying pan, saucepan, tin opener, water carrier, washing up bowl etc.
What do I need to check in?
Once you are through our gates – you have arrived! We have a designated pull over area for arrivals, from there you can make your way to reception to check in. You do not require any paperwork for check in.
What do I need to use the electric?
You will need a normal hook-up cable to connect to the electric on the Park. These are available at most electrical or caravan stores.
What do I need to use the electric?
You will need a camping specific mobile mains unit with RCD. We do have a limited amount of mobile mains units for hire from site at £2.50 a day. Please mention if you would like to hire one on booking.
What facilities are there in the Romany Caravan?
Fitted to the highest specification, each one is hand built by quality craftsmen. Featuring a full size double and two single beds, they are kept warm with an insulated oak floor and electric log burner. There’s also a TV and DVD player, refrigerator, sockets with USB points, a two ring electric hob, hob kettle and coffee pod machine. Combine all this with beautiful upholstery and a wooden deck complete with garden furniture, and your Romany Caravans experience is complete.
What facilities are there in the Shepherd Huts?
With under-floor heating and handcrafted by our very own staff onsite, they feature a full size double and two single beds, perfect for two adults and two children (age up to 14 years). There’s also a TV and DVD player, refrigerator, coffee machine, toaster, two ring electric hob, hob kettle, LED lighting and sockets with USB points.
What facilities do you have for children?
There is an adventure playground, an area for ball games with football nets, a badminton net and a table tennis station. There is also a duck pond complete with ducks and a picnic field to explore. To explore the pond area, children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
What happens if I arrive late?
If you think you are going to arrive after 5pm, please make every effort to contact us with an estimated time of arrival. If you are due to arrive after reception has closed, we may be able to arrange a late check in for you.
What is Poole famous for?
Poole is a picturesque seaside town on the Dorset coast. It is situated in between Swanage and Bournemouth and known for its bustling quayside and rich maritime history. In the past it was famous for its commercial fishing fleet and ship building endeavours. These two industries are still thriving in the town and continue to earn the port international acclaim.
Poole is home to Europe’s largest natural harbour, which attracts thousands of watersports enthusiasts each year. The RNLI is based in the town and Poole Harbour is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is a haven for bird watchers and conservationists. Experts believe there are more than 360 different species in the waters.
What is mobile coverage like on the Park?
In most circumstances, there is complete 4G coverage across the park.
What is satellite like on the park?
As with the whole of this area, satellite can be very patchy. We recommend bringing a normal co-ax cable to hook up to our TV connection points free of charge.
What is special about Poole Harbour?
Poole Harbour is the largest natural harbour in Europe and second largest natural in the world (Sydney is the largest). It is home to 9 islands, including Brownsea Island.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all card payments apart from AMEX. We can also accept bank transfer, contactless or cash payments onsite.
What pitch types do you offer?
We have a range of pitch types available and these are fully listed on our booking platform. If you feel you need to discuss options further, please do give us a ring on 01202 622577, or send us an email or a message via social media. Very basic descriptions are:
Fully Serviced Hardstanding – Private water and waste as well as electric to the pitch and a private picnic bench. Accommodates up to 9 x 6m.
Superior Electric Hardstanding/Grass – Electric Pitch accommodating 9m and below.
Super Grass Pitch – A large camping or touring pitch with electric up to 9 x 6m.
Non-Electric Grass Pitch – what it says on the tin. Can take up to 9m x 6m.
Hook up cables for TVs are available to purchase from reception.
If you do have a non-electric pitch, we are happy to charge your mobile phone in reception. Ice packs can also be frozen in our Information Hut.
What public transport options are there?
The bus to Poole and Swanage stops directly outside the gates. We also have bikes available for hire from site and there is a lovely walking/cycling route to Poole that is about 5miles long. Taxis are also readily available.
What size are the gates at South Lytchett Manor?
Whilst we are able to accept long vehicles, we do have ornate gates as you approach our park. The gates are 3.8m high and at their narrowest point measure 2.82m width.
What time is check out?
Check out by 11am on the day of departure.
What time is check-in?
Check in any time from 12pm for Touring and Camping or from 3pm for Glamping on the day of arrival, and check out by 11am on the day of departure.
What type of kettle should I bring?
Please bring a travel kettle. Normal domestic kettles are high ampage and are prone to tripping out electric points.

Bournemouth Air Festival is one of the highlights of the Dorset event calendar, attracting thousands of visitors each year. It typically takes place on the first weekend in September, but this is subject to change. This is a fantastic event that provides plenty of entertainment for the whole family and it’s completely free.
Make a base on Bournemouth beach and enjoy a spectacular programme of events. Over the course of the weekend you’ll see a wide variety of air craft displays, from some of the leading names in aviation. Please take a look at the Bournemouth Air Festival website for full details and flying times.
When is the Park open?
The Park is open from 1st March closes on the 2nd January each year.
When is the balance for my stay due by?
Full payment of the booking is due 28 days before arrival. If we have your email address, then we will pop you a little email reminder a couple of days before payment is due.
Where are dogs allowed on the Park?
Dogs are allowed in all outside areas of the Park, but please do remember to keep your four-legged friend on a lead at all times. There is a designated dog walk area (2.5 acres and regularly mowed) where they can be let off the lead to run free! The cafe and reception are both dog-friendly and dogs will be treated to a dog treat. Dog ice cream is also for sale in the summer months.
The amenity blocks is the only areas they are not able to visit. However, you will find hooks outside these buildings for them to take a breather.
Where can I charge my electric vehicle?
We’re really happy to to hear that some of our guests are using hybrid or electric cars to look after the environment. We’re working really hard to find suitable ways of supporting you with your charging your vehicles whilst staying with us. Your nearest charging points is located:

Where can I hire a bike?
We have bike hire onsite! Just ask at reception to hire your bike from £15 a day for an adult bike, with a discount for multiple days hire. We have adult, junior, child and toddler bikes available.
Where do I park for Old Harry Rocks?
Old Harry Rocks are an iconic natural landmark on the Jurassic Coast, close to Studland Bay. Pay and display car parking is available at South Beach carpark, which is owned by the National Trust. Parking is free to members.
From the car park continue down the lane past the Bankes Arms – from here the route is signposted. It should take about 20 minutes at a leisurely pace to get to Old Harry Rocks. The footpath is wide and flat with plenty of benches if you want to sit down and soak up the scenery. The walk can be extended and circular routes via Ballard Down are possible. It is advisable to keep dogs on lead and under close control. There are public toilets close to the pub.

Where does Poole ferry go?
From Condor ferry terminal in Poole you can catch a ferry to Guernsey and Jersey in the Channel Islands. Or, you can embark on a longer journey to St Malo in France. You can take your car or travel as a foot passenger.
There are smaller domestic ferries at Poole Quay and Sandbanks. These offer sightseeing tours to Brownsea Island.
Where is the closest dog day boarding?
There are loads of different options in the local area dependent on your needs – if you google dog day care in Upton you will see there is a lot of options within a 10minute drive for you to choose from.
Two that get good reviews (although we have never used them personally) is Emma’s Ark in Hamworthy and Pipzpawz.

The emergency dentist is a 20min walk away – Upton Dental in Upton (BH16 5EF). Their phone number is 01202 631900.

The nearest cashpoint is a 15minute walk away into Upton. Just ask at reception for directions!
Where is the nearest restaurant?
The nearest pub is walkable! The St Peters Finger is a 10-minute walk from site and accessible via a lit footpath. It’s also dog-friendly. Don’t forget to use your voucher to get a free bottle of wine there!
The Bakers Arms is a 15-minute walk from site. There is a range of restaurants within a short taxi drive, including the Chequers Inn in Lytchett Minster. There is also an incredible variety to suit all budgets available in Poole and Bournemouth that are accessible by bus or car. If you would like any recommendations – just ask!
Where is the nearest shop?
We have a fully stocked shop onsite with all your essentials onsite, and the nearest convenience store is less than a mile walk into Upton. For a big shop, there is a 24hour Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Asda, Sainsburys, M&S and alternative shops of your choice within a 5-10minute radius by car.
Where is there to eat in Poole?
There’s a wide selection of places to eat and drink in Poole, so you’re bound to find somewhere to dine out during your stay at South Lytchett. Poole Quay is home to a wide selection of excellent cafes and restaurants, many with fantastic views over Poole Harbour. We highly recommend visiting one of the seafood restaurants to sample locally caught fish and shellfish. There’s also an excellent Italian as well as some excellent pubs, serving traditional ‘pub grub’.
If you don’t fancy travelling far, there are a number of pubs and restaurants within walking distance of our camping and caravan park, including St Peter’s Finger and the Baker’s Arms.
Tower Park Leisure Complex is just a short drive away. It is home to a wide selection of chain restaurants and fast food takeaways, including Pizza Express, Nando’s and Taco Bell.

There are many car parks to choose from in Poole, some with easy access to the town centre, quay and park.

Which local beaches are dog friendly?
There are lots of dog friendly beaches in Dorset and many are situated just a short drive from our caravan and camping park. Some beaches are accessible all year around, whilst others are only dog friendly for part of the year. A good list can of dog friendly beaches can be found on the Visit Dorset website.
The closest to us are Hamworthy Park beach, which is about 2 miles away and then the western beach at Sandbanks (close to the chain ferry).
Some of our favourite dog friendly beaches in the area include Worbarrow Bay, Lulworth Cove and Kimmeridge Bay.

Will there be heating in my accommodation?
Yes – Romany Caravans have an electric log burner and Shepherd Huts and Glamping Pods have underfloor heating. This keeps them so cosy and warm!
Our Stargazing Yurts have a gas-controlled log burner within them.
Unfortunately, we do not allow awning heaters on site.

Yes! South Lytchett Manor is considered one of the best dog friendly caravan sites in Dorset! We welcome friendly dogs of all shapes and sizes to stay in our award-winning grounds. We have a number of dog friendly facilities, including a doggy shower, off lead exercise area and plenty of fantastic dog walks nearby.
We kindly ask that you let us know whether you will be bringing a dog with you at the time of booking. Whilst on park, please keep your furry friends on a lead with the exception of the designated off lead dog walk area. Please pick up any deposits and dispose of them in the bins around the site. We have plenty!

A gazebo is allowed as a chargeable extra, as long as it remains within the size dimensions of the pitch. It cannot be used by extra guests to sleep in due to fire safety council rules.
Please, strictly no Awning heaters as these are a big fire hazard. You can bring other types of heaters as long as they are under 10 Amp and do not pose a fire hazard.
Yes, it’s fine to bring a motorbike with you to South Lytchett Manor. If it is your only mode of transportation there will be no charge. If you are bringing it as an extra vehicle, this is chargeable.
While we would hate to miss you, you are more than welcome to cancel your holiday with us at any point. Please take a look at our terms and conditions.

Yes! There is a two ring electric hob, a kettle, toaster and coffee maker that is for your use. Please do remember that you need to bring your own cookware if you would like to cook in your glamping unit.

Unfortunately, we cannot permit the flying of drones at South Lytchett Manor. Please refrain from flying drones on the Park in respect of other guests and our surrounding neighbours’ privacy.
There is a specific freezer in the Information hut for guests to freeze their ice blocks free of charge. Please remember to pop your name on them before leaving them!
You can have a pup tent as an addition to your tent however it would need a separate pitch.
There is strictly one unit per pitch. This is enforced on the park due to council fire safety regulations.
You can leave the park at any time as the barriers are automated on exit. However, please do be considerate to your neighbours if you are arriving or leaving in the early hours. We have pitches near the top of the park that are perfect for guests who wish to cause minimum disruption.

Yes! There is always a space for a minimum of one car by your pitch. If you have paid for an extra vehicle, it may be possible to also park it on your pitch, or it can be parked in a secure place on the Park.

By law, there is a strict No Smoking policy in all our Romany Caravans, Shepherds Huts and Glamping Pods. Cigarette disposal units are situated outside the reception office and facility blocks. Anyone smoking in any of the units will automatically be charged £200 due to cleaning charges and loss of use.
Yes! Christmas and New Year is such a special time on the park, with plenty of festive decorations, drinks and nibbles. There is a really lovely atmosphere on site – so please do come and celebrate with us!
Yes you can turn up without a reservation, however in busy periods we may be full and not have any space! It is always best to phone in advance and check whether we will have any availability if you choose to visit last minute.
South Lytchett Manor is a dog friendly caravan and camping site. We take great pride in the facilities we have available for your four legged friends. There is a free to use fully serviced dog wash by reception. It has shampoo, hot water, an apron and even a hair dryer. Ideal for washing dirty paws after a trip to one of Dorset’s dog friendly beaches.
Of course! Friends can visit for no charge but please be respectful of other guests. We kindly ask that they have left the site by 9pm.
Crabbing is a fantastic family activity and a must if you’re holidaying by the coast. There are plenty of places to go crabbing in Dorset, many of which are just a short drive or scenic walk from our award-winning camping and caravan park. Poole Quay, Kimmeridge, Swanage, Mudeford are just some of our favourite destinations. If you need the gear then we have plenty available in our onsite shop!
As a small family friendly park, we do not take group bookings of more than two groups including parties, stag or hen do’s and reserve the right to refuse a booking or turn away guests that are causing a disturbance for other guests on the park. You can play football in the designated ball game areas. However, please have courtesy to other guests by not playing ball games between pitches.
Yes, it is possible to kayak in the lake at Poole Park. During the spring and summer months Rockley Watersports offer equipment hire. There’s no need to book, simply turn up and rent kayaks, canoes, stand up paddleboards and sailing dinghies.
Yes, it is possible to paddleboard in the lake at Poole Park. During the summer months there is a watersports hire facility, where you can rent a range of equipment, including SUP’s, kayaks, canoes, windsurfing boards, sailing dinghies and pedalos.
Whilst onsite we do have local mobile repairmen who have been recommended by other guests. Just pop up to reception if you need a recommendation!

We always advise that guests take out their own travel insurance, just in case.
BBQs are allowed if they are raised off the ground and used only for cooking. However, fire safety regulations prohibit fire pits, bonfires and fireworks.
We do not have a swimming pool onsite. However, but recommend Tower Park Splashdown for a fun day out for all the family, or The Dolphin Centre or the Purbeck Sports Centre for an indoor swimming pool option.
If you are looking to hold a function, the Courtyard Centre a two-minute stroll from site has a function room that is perfect to hire.
We politely ask guests to abide by our strict 10.30pm quiet time rule. Please be courteous to other guests around you.

While our maximum pitch size is 9m, there are a few that can take a larger vehicle. Please do give us a ring with your dimensions to discuss this. We also need to know the width of your vehicle to check you will fit through our main gate!

No – our amenity blocks are free to use for all guests.
No, you do not have to pay to go to Durdle Door. You will however need to pay to park in the pay and display car park if you are arriving by car. There are two car parks to choose from depending on the distance you want to walk. One is located on the cliff above Durdle Door and the second is at Lulworth Cove.
Unfortunately, we do not offer seasonal pitches on the park.
While we do not offer discounts, we very occasionally work with our affiliates, such as Premier Parks and Best of British, to give low season offers to members.
While we do not specifically offer late check out or early check in, we may be able to be flexible depending on the season. If you have a problem, just ask and we will see what we might be able to do for you.
You can stay with us for just the one night or for longer, the choice is yours! Peak season, bank holidays and weekends can be subject to minimum nights – do check with us though as we may have gaps to fill!
We allow deliveries to the park but please ask them to park up outside the gates where you can collect the delivery. For security and safety reasons, we cannot have them deliver to your pitch.

We have a local produce section in the onsite shop and use local wherever we can. This ranges from Dorset Tea and Sandbanks Cider right through to Moore’s Dorset knobs and biscuits and homemade jams from Ajar Of in Dorchester! In the High season, we also have local meat from Rawston Farm and local family food vans visiting site to provide evening hot food!
Yes, there are a wide selection of beaches in Poole. You’ll be spoilt for choice when deciding where to head during your camping or caravan holiday at South Lytchett Manor.
All of the beaches have a slightly different offering. Some have excellent for families that require entertainment while others don’t have any facilities at all.

All of our glamping units have the space for a travel cot (please note, travel cots are not provided). However, due to the layout of our Romany Caravans, it does make them a bit of a squeeze with a travel cot in.
If you are planning to bring a travel cot, then we’d recommend booking a shepherds hut, star-gazing yurt or glamping pod.
The Romany Caravans have a 5m x 3m internal floor space. We recommend that they are suited for a maximum of two adults and two children.
The double beds in each glamping unit measure 190cm x 135cm.
The lounge seat bedding pulls out to two beds of approximately 185cm x 70cm. Please note, that the lounge beds are not suitable for adults, but for children up to around the age of 14.

The North Dorset Trailway is stretches from Sturminster Newton to Spetisbury and is approximately 14 miles long. The well maintained path is suitable for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It is also mobility scooter and pushchair friendly.
The popular route is made up of sections of the Somerset and Dorset Railway, which linked Bristol and Bournemouth until the 1960s. The trailway passes through some of North Dorset’s best loved countryside and offers a glimpse of quaint towns and villages. Walkers will be treated to far-reaching views across the Blackmore Vale and the River Stour. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife – it’s not uncommon to see kingfishers and even otters.
Visitors can complete the trail in one go, or in smaller sections. There are car parks at various destinations along the route.

Yes, Poole Park is dog friendly and there are designated off lead areas. There is a mixture of woodland and parkland for your four-legged friend to explore. The walk around the park is approximately 1 mile. Dogs are not permitted in the fenced children’s play areas.
Yes, Poole Park is free to enter, though you will need to pay to use the watersports facilities. This popular family attraction is open year-round and boasts a boating lake, café, tennis courts, bowing green and multiple play areas.
There are 3 free car parks within the park as well as free on road parking (we recommend arriving early as parking because parking is limited). The park is closed to vehicles between 6am and 10am Monday – Sunday.
Poole Quay is situated at the northern edge of Poole Harbour within walking distance of the Town Centre. It’s a hive of activity, especially during the summer months and home to a wide selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants. A number of events take place at Poole Quay every year and there are some excellent walks nearby. You can catch a number of scenic boat trips around Poole Harbour from the quayside. There’s also a ferry to Brownsea Island.
The interior is as accessible as possible whilst maintaining the authenticity of the experience. However, there are a few steps up into each glamping unit. We have multiple accessible amenities and facilities on the park to help you make the best of your stay with us. Please look at our accessibility page for more information.

Yes, there is Wifi on park and best of all, it’s completely free! Please do not use any streaming services as this will slow down the service for all guests.
Yes, there is a laundrette at South Lytchett Manor. It is located in the main amenity block and available for caravan, camping and glamping guests.
The machines are token-operated, and tokens can be purchased from the cafe or shop. £4.00 for a wash, £4.00 per dry and £1 for the Iron token. Washing detergent can also be purchased from the shop.

Poole Park Run course is 5km and is a mixture of tarmac and compacted gravel. Some sections do get busy, especially during the autumn and winter and puddles can form after heavy rain. Poole Park Run is a welcoming event that is designed for participants of all ages and abilities. You can walk, job or run – it’s not a race!
Poole Park Run takes place every Sunday and starts at 9am. The starting point can be found at West Field (opposite the crazy golf) at the town centre end of Poole Park.
Parking can be tricky so you will need to arrive early. Entrants are encouraged to walk or cycle to the event.
Yes! There is a motorhome service point on the park, as well as several Elsan and water points across the park for easy access throughout your say. If you have a fully serviced pitch, you have your own water and waste to your pitch.
There is a small fridge in your glamping unit. This has enough space to store a couple of meals and drinks for your stay.
You can freeze ice packs 24h at the Information Centre.
There are a range of petrol stations to choose from dependent on your direction of travel. The cheapest is at the Tesco Extra at Fleetsbridge (7min drive) – BH17 7EJ

Yes! The Manor Field at the bottom of the Park is designated solely for ball games and picnics. If you have a fully serviced pitch, your pitch is inclusive of a picnic bench to enjoy as well!
The majority of our pitches come with electric. However, we do have some “Standard Non Electric” pitches for those campers that would like to go back to basics!
Please note, we do not allow electric vehicles to be charged on site however do ask us about the nearest charging points. Our electric hooks up aren’t suitable for mains kettles. You will need a main mobile power unit to collect to our bollards for safety reasons.
We love to encourage guests to go out and explore the wondrous beaches, countryside and towns nearby – there is so much to see and do in the local area. Therefore, there is no entertainment on site.
Yes! There are fishing charter boats from Poole Quay and several lakes a short drive from site. Some guests have caught lots of mackerel from Chesil Beach! A short drive away is Todber Manor, which has excellent runs water – great for coarse and carp fishing. It also has an onsite tackle shop and hot food options.
We have an onsite shop that is well stocked with all the essentials you’ll need during your stay. In high season we have a selection of local meats, fresh vegetables and salad items available to purchase.
The onsite cafe offers coffee and a selection of light snacks. In high season and bank holidays, we also have an onsite bakery creating delicious bread and pastries every morning.
During High season, various family run food vans visit site during the evenings with local high quality food offerings. Outside of high season, there is a café just two minutes walk away to enjoy your breakfast. It is only a seven minute walk to the local pub – St Peters Finger. Takeaways are also an option!

Yes! You have a dedicated space for a vehicle with your glamping stay. If you want to bring more than one vehicle, please contact us to discuss options.
All pitches are 10 Amp across the park. They are not suitable for standard kettles.
Although we provide most of the essentials you will need for your stay, we suggest you bring the following items:
Bed linen — including sleeping bags/duvet/pillow, bed sheets and pillow cases, crockery, mugs, glasses, chopping board, corkscrew, cutlery (including sharp knife for chopping/cutting), frying pan, saucepan, tin opener, water carrier, washing up bowl etc.
Once you are through our gates – you have arrived! We have a designated pull over area for arrivals, from there you can make your way to reception to check in. You do not require any paperwork for check in.
You will need a normal hook-up cable to connect to the electric on the Park. These are available at most electrical or caravan stores.
You will need a camping specific mobile mains unit with RCD. We do have a limited amount of mobile mains units for hire from site at £2.50 a day. Please mention if you would like to hire one on booking.
Fitted to the highest specification, each one is hand built by quality craftsmen. Featuring a full size double and two single beds, they are kept warm with an insulated oak floor and electric log burner. There’s also a TV and DVD player, refrigerator, sockets with USB points, a two ring electric hob, hob kettle and coffee pod machine. Combine all this with beautiful upholstery and a wooden deck complete with garden furniture, and your Romany Caravans experience is complete.
With under-floor heating and handcrafted by our very own staff onsite, they feature a full size double and two single beds, perfect for two adults and two children (age up to 14 years). There’s also a TV and DVD player, refrigerator, coffee machine, toaster, two ring electric hob, hob kettle, LED lighting and sockets with USB points.
There is an adventure playground, an area for ball games with football nets, a badminton net and a table tennis station. There is also a duck pond complete with ducks and a picnic field to explore. To explore the pond area, children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
If you think you are going to arrive after 5pm, please make every effort to contact us with an estimated time of arrival. If you are due to arrive after reception has closed, we may be able to arrange a late check in for you.
Poole is a picturesque seaside town on the Dorset coast. It is situated in between Swanage and Bournemouth and known for its bustling quayside and rich maritime history. In the past it was famous for its commercial fishing fleet and ship building endeavours. These two industries are still thriving in the town and continue to earn the port international acclaim.
Poole is home to Europe’s largest natural harbour, which attracts thousands of watersports enthusiasts each year. The RNLI is based in the town and Poole Harbour is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is a haven for bird watchers and conservationists. Experts believe there are more than 360 different species in the waters.
In most circumstances, there is complete 4G coverage across the park.
As with the whole of this area, satellite can be very patchy. We recommend bringing a normal co-ax cable to hook up to our TV connection points free of charge.
Poole Harbour is the largest natural harbour in Europe and second largest natural in the world (Sydney is the largest). It is home to 9 islands, including Brownsea Island.

Poole, Swanage, Bournemouth and Weymouth are all easily accessible and offer plenty of attractions and activities to keep the whole family entertained. The Jurassic Coast and Dorset countryside surrounding our park provide endless walks and opportunities to explore the great outdoors. We accept all card payments apart from AMEX. We can also accept bank transfer, contactless or cash payments onsite.
We have a range of pitch types available and these are fully listed on our booking platform. If you feel you need to discuss options further, please do give us a ring on 01202 622577, or send us an email or a message via social media. Very basic descriptions are:
Fully Serviced Hardstanding – Private water and waste as well as electric to the pitch and a private picnic bench. Accommodates up to 9 x 6m.
Superior Electric Hardstanding/Grass – Electric Pitch accommodating 9m and below.
Super Grass Pitch – A large camping or touring pitch with electric up to 9 x 6m.
Non-Electric Grass Pitch – what it says on the tin. Can take up to 9m x 6m.
Hook up cables for TVs are available to purchase from reception.
If you do have a non-electric pitch, we are happy to charge your mobile phone in reception. Ice packs can also be frozen in our Information Hut.
The bus to Poole and Swanage stops directly outside the gates. We also have bikes available for hire from site and there is a lovely walking/cycling route to Poole that is about 5miles long. Taxis are also readily available.
Whilst we are able to accept long vehicles, we do have ornate gates as you approach our park. The gates are 3.8m high and at their narrowest point measure 2.82m width.
Check out by 11am on the day of departure.
Check in any time from 12pm for Touring and Camping or from 3pm for Glamping on the day of arrival, and check out by 11am on the day of departure.
Please bring a travel kettle. Normal domestic kettles are high ampage and are prone to tripping out electric points.
Bournemouth Air Festival – 29 to 31 August 2024
Bournemouth Air Festival is one of the highlights of the Dorset event calendar, attracting thousands of visitors each year. It typically takes place on the first weekend in September, but this is subject to change. This is a fantastic event that provides plenty of entertainment for the whole family and it’s completely free.
Make a base on Bournemouth beach and enjoy a spectacular programme of events. Over the course of the weekend you’ll see a wide variety of air craft displays, from some of the leading names in aviation. Please take a look at the Bournemouth Air Festival website for full details and flying times.
The Park is open from 1st March closes on the 2nd January each year.
Full payment of the booking is due 28 days before arrival. If we have your email address, then we will pop you a little email reminder a couple of days before payment is due.
Dogs are allowed in all outside areas of the Park, but please do remember to keep your four-legged friend on a lead at all times. There is a designated dog walk area (2.5 acres and regularly mowed) where they can be let off the lead to run free! The cafe and reception are both dog-friendly and dogs will be treated to a dog treat. Dog ice cream is also for sale in the summer months.
The amenity blocks is the only areas they are not able to visit. However, you will find hooks outside these buildings for them to take a breather.
We’re really happy to to hear that some of our guests are using hybrid or electric cars to look after the environment. We’re working really hard to find suitable ways of supporting you with your charging your vehicles whilst staying with us. Your nearest charging points is located:

We do have a range of camping equipment in our shop onsite. If you are after something that we don’t stock then we can advise where to go locally.

We have bike hire onsite! Just ask at reception to hire your bike from £15 a day for an adult bike, with a discount for multiple days hire. We have adult, junior, child and toddler bikes available.
Old Harry Rocks are an iconic natural landmark on the Jurassic Coast, close to Studland Bay. Pay and display car parking is available at South Beach carpark, which is owned by the National Trust. Parking is free to members.
From the car park continue down the lane past the Bankes Arms – from here the route is signposted. It should take about 20 minutes at a leisurely pace to get to Old Harry Rocks. The footpath is wide and flat with plenty of benches if you want to sit down and soak up the scenery. The walk can be extended and circular routes via Ballard Down are possible. It is advisable to keep dogs on lead and under close control. There are public toilets close to the pub.

From Condor ferry terminal in Poole you can catch a ferry to Guernsey and Jersey in the Channel Islands. Or, you can embark on a longer journey to St Malo in France. You can take your car or travel as a foot passenger.
There are smaller domestic ferries at Poole Quay and Sandbanks. These offer sightseeing tours to Brownsea Island.
There are loads of different options in the local area dependent on your needs – if you google dog day care in Upton you will see there is a lot of options within a 10minute drive for you to choose from.
Two that get good reviews (although we have never used them personally) is Emma’s Ark in Hamworthy and Pipzpawz.

The nearest cashpoint is a 15minute walk away into Upton. Just ask at reception for directions!
The nearest pub is walkable! The St Peters Finger is a 10-minute walk from site and accessible via a lit footpath. It’s also dog-friendly. Don’t forget to use your voucher to get a free bottle of wine there!
The Bakers Arms is a 15-minute walk from site. There is a range of restaurants within a short taxi drive, including the Chequers Inn in Lytchett Minster. There is also an incredible variety to suit all budgets available in Poole and Bournemouth that are accessible by bus or car. If you would like any recommendations – just ask!
We have a fully stocked shop onsite with all your essentials onsite, and the nearest convenience store is less than a mile walk into Upton. For a big shop, there is a 24hour Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Asda, Sainsburys, M&S and alternative shops of your choice within a 5-10minute radius by car.
There’s a wide selection of places to eat and drink in Poole, so you’re bound to find somewhere to dine out during your stay at South Lytchett. Poole Quay is home to a wide selection of excellent cafes and restaurants, many with fantastic views over Poole Harbour. We highly recommend visiting one of the seafood restaurants to sample locally caught fish and shellfish. There’s also an excellent Italian as well as some excellent pubs, serving traditional ‘pub grub’.
If you don’t fancy travelling far, there are a number of pubs and restaurants within walking distance of our camping and caravan park, including St Peter’s Finger and the Baker’s Arms.
Tower Park Leisure Complex is just a short drive away. It is home to a wide selection of chain restaurants and fast food takeaways, including Pizza Express, Nando’s and Taco Bell.
There are many car parks to choose from in Poole, some with easy access to the town centre, quay and park.

There are lots of dog friendly beaches in Dorset and many are situated just a short drive from our caravan and camping park. Some beaches are accessible all year around, whilst others are only dog friendly for part of the year. A good list can of dog friendly beaches can be found on the Visit Dorset website.
The closest to us are Hamworthy Park beach, which is about 2 miles away and then the western beach at Sandbanks (close to the chain ferry).
Some of our favourite dog friendly beaches in the area include Worbarrow Bay, Lulworth Cove and Kimmeridge Bay.

Yes – Romany Caravans have an electric log burner and Shepherd Huts and Glamping Pods have underfloor heating. This keeps them so cosy and warm!
