Walk: Circular 3 mile route from South Lytchett Manor

Activities

Start: from the Craft Centre (café)

  • Turn left and after about 200m turn left again following the sign to Lytchett Minster School
  • Continue past the school until the road bends sharply to your left
  • Follow the bridle path to your right
  • Follow this path for about 1.5km
  • At the end of the path you come out on to Foxhills Road
  • Turn left and follow the road for about 500m
  • Look for the footpath sign on your left. There is a large gate with a pedestrian gate next to it leading into the woods
  • Follow the footpath straight down (don’t follow the field boundary to the left) over two small bridges made of railway sleepers to the style at the bottom of the slope (can be muddy and overgrown)
  • Climb over the style and follow the field boundary on your right until you come to another very overgrown style next to farm gates
  • Climb the style and follow the track to your left. After about 100m as you start to climb field and pass hedge you will another style on your left leading into a field.
  • Follow the field round keeping the woods on your left
  • At the corner of the field is an opening leading into the farm yard – (on occasions there may be a bull in the field)
  • Continue straight ahead between two buildings
  • At the end turn right and follow the road towards Lytchett Minster
  • As you approach the church, on your left. You will see a footpath sign
  • Use this path to cut through between the Church and Nursery School
  • Turn left when you reach the road and after about 600m is the entrance to the campsite
