Walk: Upton Park

Activities
  • Take a left out the park, over the bridge and follow down Dorchester Road.
  • At the cross roads use the crossings straight over onto Poole Road, keeping to the right hand side of the road. Walk all the way till you see the road bend to the left but path keeps going straight.
  • Walk to the top of the car park. They do have toilets for a quick stop! Say hello to the cows and bear right. Follow path down signposted Hamworthy.
  • Take a left near the stream and follow the new paths back up to the Main house and tea rooms.
  • Stop for an ice cream!

Alternative routes:
After using the crossroads, after the Co-op and hair dressers, take the small footpath. This will take you down behind the industrial estate, follow the path, cross the troll bridge and you will end up on the main path round the Country Park.

Off the main Poole Road there is a dog walking car park, follow paths and signs to the main Park.
To Poole – Enter main park gates, turn left. Walk through the gravel car park, follow signs to Poole. Walk alongside the duel carriage way, steep hills over water pipe outlets.

Not only is Upton Park fab for walks and cycle rides, there’s the tea rooms with a gallery above, the plant centre, a woodland play trail, splash fountain in the walled gardens (peak times during the summer), fairy garden, duck pond, a education centre, doggy wash and even hosts segway tours! Don’t forget to look at the grade 2 Listed Georgian house or have a picnic on the front lawn!
