The summer season is finally drawing to a close and what a couple of months it’s been! We’ve loved seeing the park come back to life and have enjoyed meeting so many new and returning guests.

To celebrate the end of our peak season and recognise the efforts of our hard-working team, we’ve compiled some of our favourite online reviews from the past 12 months. After such a challenging year, it’s been incredibly rewarding to read such wonderful feedback. We feel very privileged to play an important role in peoples holidays. It certainly makes the long hours worth it!

5 Star Facilities

We take great pride in our park and are continually expanding our offering to ensure South Lytchett Manor stands out from the crowd. Every winter we reinvest in our facilities and work hard to uphold the high standards for which we’ve earned a fantastic reputation over the years.

During the lockdown we extended our shop to include a brand-new café and bakery. This has enabled us to serve a range of sweet and savoury pastries and tasty barista style hot drinks. We’ve also expanded the number of hot food vendors that visit the site.

If our wonderful online reviews are anything to go by, our food and drink has gone down a storm with our campers. Our visitors clearly appreciate having such easy access to delicious food and drink. After all, everyone needs a night off cooking – especially on holiday!

“Perfect little place. It’s clean tidy and lovely all the way around. Including the chickens. Toilets and showers are the best I’ve ever seen and having music play in them too.. What else can amaze me. The hosts were lovely too. We never booked we just pulled up and he found us a spot to stay in for the night. Will definitely return.”

“Since the last visit, they have upgraded the shop to sell more freshly baked goods, coffees and bacon butties separate to the checking in desk, which is a wonderful addition. I loved having this option, especially on the day we had to leave, as this allowed us to pack our stove etc. away the night before.”

Glamping

We listen to customer feedback and try to meet our guests’ changing expectations wherever possible. Over the past couple of years many of our visitors have expressed an interest in glamping accommodation, so we’ve worked hard to create a varied selection of unique places to stay.

Most recently the team have hand built a range of Camping Pods to accompany our Romany Caravans and Shepherd’s Huts. These have been incredibly well received by our guests, who have commended their bright interior, comfortable beds and quirky design in their online reviews.

We’re already receiving enquiries for next year from guests who can’t wait to return!

“We managed to get a last minute glamping pod for 2 nights…. After reading all the online reviews we were really impressed. But even more impressed once we arrived. Staff are so friendly.. “We arrived with a cheerful friendly reception, the 2 ladies greeting us were helpful and welcoming. We were given all the information we needed and directed to the pods. The pods are excellent, well presented, furnished and comfortable. The bed was perfect and 2 good nights sleep was had. They have underfloor heating, so would be great to stay in all year round. There is a cooker hob, fridge and storage space. 2 chairs and a fold out table comes is very handy to have. Outside is some extra space and a small picnic bench.”

“Just back from a fantastic 3 night break in one of the new camping pods and highly recommend them. The pods were spotlessly clean (as were all the communal facilities), very roomy and so comfortable. The little shop on site sells all the essentials you might need and bakes a fantastic pain au chocolate for breakfast. The staff are so friendly and you can clearly see that they really care about the site. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.”

Convenient Location

South Lytchett Manor occupies a convenient location, just a short drive from some of Dorset’s most popular towns and villages. Poole, Bournemouth, Swanage and Wareham are all just a short drive away and iconic beauty spots along the Jurassic Coast are within easy reach.

Many guests return to South Lytchett Manor year on year due to our unique semi-rural position. We have bikes available to hire for families looking to explore the network of cycle paths that are easily accessible from our site. There is also a bus stop directly outside the park, which allows you to enjoy a car free stay.

We’re a close-knit team who love what we do. Every day we strive to deliver the highest levels of customer service, to ensure guests have nothing short of a 5-star stay. As an independent, family run park, we’re involved in many aspects of the business. This means we have the privilege of meeting lots of guests as we go about our day. We love nothing more than having a chat and hearing all the things you love about our caravan and camping site.

The pitches are a good size and well kept, the delux ones in the Paddock are definitely the best, the facilities are clean and plentiful and their best asset is without a doubt the staff who are super friendly and helpful. “From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by extremely friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We were shown to our pitched where it was explained how to set up. The lovely Toilet block wasn’t too far away and always clean. The shower block too was clean and well laid out with hot water with excellent pressure. I don’t really want to recommend it, as I want to keep it to myself!! I would definitely return. A lovely campsite, with great facilities including the shop and pop up cafe.”

Dog Friendly Facilities

We’re proud to be one of the best dog friendly camping and caravan sites in Dorset. Every year we welcome hundreds of dogs of all shapes and sizes to our award-winning park. As you’ll see from our customer feedback, owners are impressed by our dedicated dog friendly facilities. Our dog shower and off lead exercise are a real hit!

We endeavour to make our guests stay as stress free as possible. Our shower means you don’t have to worry about muddy paws in your caravan!

“At the main entrance is the main shop alongside a little coffee counter where you can buy essentials and a nearby playground for the children. On the site also they have a dog washing facility for anyone with a dog which you are allowed to bring with you. A wonderful place to be on your holiday”

“This is now out second year in a row of visiting South Lytchett. The park staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are some of the best I’ve ever seen at a campsite, decent showers, super clean areas, lots of cubicles and individual areas so you can have privacy. We love the dog facilities, with the large off lead dog area and the dog wash. Overall a great experience and will be visiting again next year!”
